Testing capability that matches your delivery risk.
A quality problem may appear as slow regression testing, production defects, weak test data, unstable environments or limited automation. Each calls for a different combination of analytical skill, engineering depth and leadership.
ANZ Talent Hub focuses on specialist software testing and quality engineering recruitment, with briefs shaped around the systems under test and the maturity of the delivery team.
Positions and specialisations
- Manual Test Analysts and QA Analysts
- Automation Test Engineers and QA Engineers
- Software Development Engineers in Test (SDETs)
- API and integration testing specialists
- Performance and non-functional testers
- Test Leads and Test Managers
Match the specialist to your quality challenge
A manual tester may provide valuable exploratory testing and business-process knowledge. An automation engineer should be able to design maintainable tests and work with CI/CD pipelines. A test lead may be needed to coordinate environments, dependencies, reporting and release readiness across several teams.
Tools such as Playwright, Selenium and Cypress can matter, but tool familiarity is not a substitute for sound test design, debugging, prioritisation and communication.
A practical assessment approach
Give candidates a realistic workflow and ask where it might fail, what they would test first and which scenarios they would automate. Ask how they handle flaky tests, defects discovered late in a sprint and competing release risks.
The aim is to understand how someone improves confidence in delivery—not how many test scripts they can count.

Frequently asked questions
Can ANZ Talent Hub recruit QA analysts and software testers?
Testing and quality engineering are core specialist areas, including test analysts, automation engineers, SDETs and test leads. The role should reflect the actual quality risk: exploration, test design, automation, integration, performance or coordination.
Can you recruit automation testers with Playwright, Selenium or Cypress?
These tools are relevant to testing recruitment. Employers should assess maintainable test design, debugging, integration with CI/CD and sound coverage decisions—not only experience running a particular framework.
What is the difference between a QA analyst and an SDET?
A QA analyst may focus on test analysis, exploratory testing, workflows and defect communication. An SDET generally brings deeper coding and test-framework engineering capability. Responsibilities overlap in some teams, so the job brief should state the work clearly.
When should we hire a test lead or test manager?
Consider testing leadership when quality assurance spans multiple teams, releases, vendors or applications and needs coordinated strategy, environments, dependencies and reporting. A standalone tester may be sufficient for a smaller product team with an established testing approach.
